The company Metrorex, the Bucharest metro system operator, has awarded CAF in 2011 the contract to supply 16 metro units with the option of a further 8 trains. These new trains will provide service on the new line 5 of the Bucharest metro and each will consist of 6 cars. With a capacity of 1,200 passengers along its 114 m of length with an unobstructed gangway along the entire train, running at a maximum speed of 80 km/h with a third rails energy capture system of 750 Vdc.
