King Ferdinand’s Funerals

King Ferdinand died on July 20, 1927 in Peles Castle in Sinaia, for bowel cancer.

After the King’s death , the parliament proclaims grandson Michael , as new King. Because Michael is still infant , it is named an Regency .

On July 24, the country held a national funeral. Funeral cortege passes through Bucharest and the funeral service takes place at the Orthodox Cathedral. The body will be buried at the Curtea de Agres.
